syn. Phedimus middendorffianus
Chinese Mountain Stonecrop is one of the best semi-evergreen ground covers for the full sun garden. Delicate leaves emerge burgundy in spring before changing to a lovely shade of green in summer. Star-shaped yellow flowers smother the plant from early to mid-summer. In fall, the foliage again changes color to a bright red. Seed heads dry to a deep maroon color and remain standing all winter (if not crushed by snow).
