Sanguisorba officinalis

Burnet are vigorous perennials that steal the show when they burst into bloom in late summer. Give them moist soil in full sun for best results. They tend to flop so plant them next to sturdier plants.

S. officinalis tends to look a bit weedy when planted singly. Plant in groups for a stunning effect. The bobbing blackish-red flower knots are like nothing else in the garden. Self-sows readily.
