Pineleaf pink is a rare species from the Balkans with crimson-colored, edible flowers. The flower clusters bring Alliums to mind, but the grassy, glaucous foliage is typical of Dianthus. Fragrant flowers are much loved by butterflies.
A tough plant for any sunny, well-drained spot. It thrives in heat and drought. Perfect along the edge of a driveway or in the rock garden.
